We have been working hard to assemble an all-star cast for our third season of Musky Insider PRO. We were lucky to get Mike Lazarus back for another session, and we even wrangled speed-trolling legend and bait maker Dale Wiley into sharing some valuable info with our members in the coming year.

We're also VERY excited to have Mark Lijewski as an instructor this year. Some of you might not recognize the name, but Mark has 20+ musky tournament wins to his credit including a lot of biggies. The dude is an absolute hammer and one of the best on the planet at workin’ rubber.

Why did we highlight those three? Because they RARELY share information online or at seminars. Musky Insider PRO has the best info and content you truly can't find anywhere else.

And that’s just the start…

We’ve got heavy hitters like James Lindner and Pete Maina joining the mix, plus a loaded team of guides, tournament anglers, and fisheries biologists. This is the best lineup in musky fishing.

Here's a look at our current up-to-date list of instructors:

You’ll get direct access to these experts during our live Q&A sessions (all recorded in case you miss ‘em), plus instant access to 24+ hours of classes and 80+ hours of past Q&As right out of the gate.

Real results: In a recent survey, 22% of PRO members caught their personal best since joining!

PRO member Matthew Guarascio with a “Pink Day” PB.

A big reason behind that . . . PRO members get access to Josh Borovsky’s Big Fish “Pink Days” Calendar & Analytics, which forecast the top days and locations across the musky belt to catch a true giant.

Another perk: early access to hard-to-find and custom musky baits.

This winter, members got first dibs on the Hybrid before it hit the market — and now we’ve got custom-color Hybrids in the works along with many other upcoming customs including:

• Custom Kramer Bros. Woodticks

• Custom Toddy Tickle Warhammers

• Custom Sampson Baitworks Metal Heads

• And exclusive colors of Magnum Bulldawgs, Swimmin Dawgs & Pounders from Musky Innovations

We’re also giving members 15% off all year (through end of 2025) at Thorne Bros — good on lures, rods, reels, and more (some exclusions apply).

You can start using your discount as soon as you log in.

Don’t wait. Save money on gear and get A+ custom baits and info you can’t find anywhere else. Learn from the best in the game.

Eagle Lake Says No to Sharpshooting

Musky Insider PRO instructor and legendary guide Steve Herbeck recently posted this sign on his Facebook page.

It was developed and created collaboratively with the Eagle Lake Conservation Group members, concerned guides/anglers, Sunset Country Tourism and other local municipalities.

Here’s what Herbie had to say . . .

I’m proud to be part of this effort. At least we’re doing something proactive — not reactive — before it’s too late.

Many of these recommendations will help reduce musky mortality, whether or not forward-facing sonar is being used.

I see this as a starting point — and a way to gauge future action. Now it’s up to the anglers.

The resorts and businesses in the Eagle Lake area are 100% behind this. You’ll see posters at the docks, online, and at public landings.

The message is simple: If you don’t want to comply, fish somewhere else. This is a special slice of God’s country, and we want to protect it for generations to come. I commend everyone who stepped up.

Larry Ramsell is “Muskie Man”

Larry Ramsell has over 60 years of musky fishing under his belt and has chased giants across 15 states, two Canadian provinces, and all of the Great Lakes. He’s landed some absolute beasts—over 50 pounds and stretching past 57 inches!

He’s a two-term International President of Muskies, Inc., a permanent board member, and widely regarded as the world’s leading authority on musky fishing history and world record catches. He also heads up the Modern Day Muskellunge Records Committee.

Alumacraft just dropped a documentary film on Larry called “Muskie Man” - now streaming on their Youtube channel - and it’s definitely worth a watch. 👀

The film highlights Larry’s dedication to musky fishing and the journey it has brought him on following his quest to catch a record musky.

It’s a well done video with great cinematography and does a good job of capturing the obsession that many of us musky nuts have become afflicted with.

Larry even boats a solid fish on camera during a night session with fellow PRO instructor Mike Lazarus.

We’re pumped to have the “Muskie Man” himself joining us on May 15th from 7–9 PM CST for our next Musky Insider PRO Live Q&A.

Be sure to join PRO before Larry goes live — this is your chance to pick the brain of the walking encyclopedia of musky fishing!

PMTT Winning Deets

The PMTT kicked off their season with the first qualifier on Cave Run Lake, April 26–27.

It was a tough bite down in Kentucky with the lake more than 20 feet above normal pool. Only 14 muskies were caught during the entire event, and no team managed to double up…

So it came down to a biggest-fish-wins scenario — and Bob Bauer and Gary Vilcek sealed the deal with this 46.25” buzzer beater on a spinnerbait, caught with just 12 minutes left in the tourney.

The team of Jeremy Baird and Jay Thornburn jigged up a 42.5” ‘skie for second place, while Loren and Chris Stayer took third with a 40-incher caught on a Dyin’ Dawg

Here’s how the rest of the top ten shook out:

This was clearly a grinder of a tournament. While no team found a repeatable pattern, some common themes emerged when looking at the top finishers.

Several teams mentioned targeting timber, and a couple also fished near the dam. While spinnerbaits, dive-and-rise baits, rattle traps, and trolling each put one fish in the boat, jigging and twitch baits accounted for six of the top ten fish.

Next up: the PMTT heads to the Three Lakes/Eagle River Chain in Wisconsin, June 21–22. That one’s close to filling up!
